LOST AND FOUND: WALKING WITH JESUS IN UNEXPECTED PLACES
A Half-Day Retreat with Mimi Dixon
Join us for a half-day retreat with Mimi Dixon on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00am - 2:00pm at White Rock Community Church.
What should we do when our life with Jesus does not unfold the way we expected? How can we walk by his side in trust and friendship, even when the path seems unclear?
We’ll explore those questions together through teaching from Mimi Dixon, worship with Josiah Wall and Carolyn Arends, some quiet time for personal reflection and journaling, and conversation over a shared lunch. Expect a meaningful opportunity to pause, be refreshed, and connect more deeply with God and one another.
Miriam (Mimi) Dixon began her ministry in 1979 serving as an associate pastor at Northminster Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington. From April of 1985 to May of 2019 she served as senior pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Golden, Colorado. She earned both her MDiv and DMin degrees from Fuller Theological Seminary. Mimi is on the Renovaré Board of Directors and teaches for the Renovaré Institute. She is faculty for Next Frontiers, a ministry to pastors in transition, and actively promotes Christian Spiritual Formation, crediting Richard Foster and Dallas Willard for their influence in her life and ministry. Mimi has authored Worth Celebrating: a biography of Richard J Foster's Celebration of Discipline, available through Barclay Press.
Note: The regular ticket price is $40. If price is an obstacle, please choose the “Supported Rate” ($20.) If you’re able to help offset the cost for others, please choose the “Supportive Rate” ($60).
Foundations (Two - Part Course)
Apr 26 & May 3, 2026
Join Pastor Steve over lunch this Sunday, April 26 in the Fellowship Hall to learn more about who we are as a church - where we’ve come from and where we’re headed.
It’s also a great opportunity to reflect on your personal beliefs and discern whether we are the best community for you to grow and thrive.
**We would like to see all volunteers go through this course, even if you've been here awhile**
Additional Connection and Support
Not just one, but two beautiful baby boys have joined our church family: Judah Flitton and Benjamin Wall! We’re so grateful for this sweet season and would love to support these growing families as they settle in with their little ones.
We’ve set up a couple of meal trains to help bless them in practical ways. You can sign up to drop off a meal or send a gift certificate through the links below.

Praise the Lord - Miriam Bennett will be moving out of the unauthorized suite she has been in!
Miriam could really use some help with packing, as she has limited mobility. She is also in need of large tupperware containers for outdoor storage and/or vacuum seal bags.
If you’re able to lend a hand, please consider reaching out to her directly to arrange a time to stop by. It would be such a meaningful blessing to her during this time.

Thank you!
The Steve Bell and Carolyn Arends concert last Thursday, joined by Spencer Capier and Roy Salmond, was truly phenomenal! It had been 25 years since Carolyn and Steve last performed together, and what they created was filled with joy and God’s love. A beautiful evening to treasure - thank you so much!
New Daytime Home Group Trial
We’re jumping in - there has been great interest in an ongoing daytime mixed Bible study group. Pastor Steve will be leading a 4-week session here at the church on Mondays from 10:30am–12:00pm. Stay tuned for more details!

Movie Night
The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel is a journalistic investigation aimed at debunking the historical reliability of the New Testament and the resurrection of Jesus. As a former atheist, Strobel interviews experts, examining evidence for the empty tomb, eyewitness accounts, and archaeological findings, ultimately concluding that the evidence supports Christian belief.
Everyone welcome. Bring a snack to share and a friend to join in! Enter around the back by the parking lot.

Spring Clean-Up
Let's do a refresh in our church! We’ve got a great mix of projects to tackle together:
- Refreshing the kitchen cupboards with a good clean-out
- Organizing the Tool/Deep Freezer room
- Sorting ministry supplies so each area is set up to serve well (as ministry leaders see fit)
- Building a picnic table (and figuring out the best way to safely secure it)
- Completing donation runs as needed
There’s something for everyone—thank you for helping care for our space!

God in My Everything by Ken Shigematsu
"God in My Everything" by Ken Shigematsu is a spiritual guide helping busy people integrate faith into daily life through a "rule of life"—a personal rhythm of spiritual practices. It teaches that God can be experienced in work, family, and leisure, not just quiet solitude, fostering a deeper connection with Jesus.
