I’m sure I am not alone in this. The Kingdom of Christ is here and as we rehearse the Lord’s Prayer, we repeat the words, “Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The world really needs us to lean in hard to ‘being’ Kingdom kids right now. There’s no better time to love and listen to your community and neighbours. I invite you to pray and hold moments of solitude with Jesus, to stand in solidarity with those that are not free, those that held captive by addiction, anxiety or mental health concerns. Those that feel polarized. Please pray for peace for the unrest in the Middle East, Russia & Ukraine, Sudan, Venezuela. Let’s continue to pray for peace for our neighbours to the South. Our hearts are with the community of Tumbler Ridge, BC. We ask that you hold them in prayer during this difficult time. So many community members there are hurting and will be hurting for years to come. Our mind may scramble to find reasons to make sense of such devastation, but instead I would ask you to pray healing and peace from where you are. If you are wondering how, may I suggest a couple things: - Go for a prayer walk and recite the Lord’s prayer a few times. - Set your timer for 10 minutes and turn your thoughts to the heart of God and His heart as the Great Healer. - Look for an opportunity to buy someone you don’t know a coffee or some ‘Random act of Kindness” in the name of Christ. - Notice and value people this week wherever you find yourself. Look into the eyes of a server at a restaurant, a cashier, one of our friends that is living on the street; someone at the hospital. May you sense and spread Shalom this week. He was a long-time member of our church and dedicated servant of the Lord. She has a disability and will need some assistance. Söndi was introduced to Christ in her first year of college in Sárospatak when she joined a Christian choir. Shaun’s experience in Hungary began in 1991 when he went to teach English in the city of Békéscsaba. He later returned in June 1998 to serve full-time in Budapest. Shaun met Söndi at Kelenföld Evangelical Church and they were married in Budapest in July 2002. God has blessed them with three sons. Shaun and Söndi are living in Budapest area. Shaun uses English teaching as a tool holding outreach English clubs, Bible studies and summer camps as a means to reach the community and grow the church.
