Updates
From our missionaries: Peter & Hazel T
(Updates below)
Dear praying friends,
“Hi Peter, These days we are going through very difficult circumstances. One of our brothers has been arrested in the city where we are staying, and we are now in hiding. Also, our names were posted on Facebook some time ago. We ask you to pray for us and for our families. I had hoped to wait until our meeting to tell you about this, but no one knows what may happen tomorrow. Therefore, please pray for us, and ask any brothers and sisters you know to pray for us as well … being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6).”
I would appreciate your prayers for Sa’id and Samy and their families, as well as the many other believers in the country … both those who have been in prison for some time now, as well as for those who are now being hunted by the authorities. This is happening because they’ve put their faith in Jesus.
UPDATE: I asked him, “Do you have people helping take care of your needs?” and he wrote back, “Yes, people are taking care of us.”
So, they are not trying to survive out on the streets, and yet they are still hiding from the authorities. When I find out more details, I will let you know. For now, thanks for continuing to pray for them.
UPDATE #2: Again, thank you for your continued prayers for Sa’id and Samy and their families. I just messaged back and forth with Sa’id and he said that he and Samy continue to lay low. He clarified that their families are not hiding with them and are safe ... it’s just the two of them that are hiding. They continue to assess the situation and trust that they will soon be reunited with their families.
Thanks for praying,
Peter
Additional Connection and Support
It was encouraging to receive an update from Dan and Irene Schat last week during our service; let's continue our prayers for them and please take note of their event in September.
Stand as One Ministry is a Christian ministry serving families in Malawi. Our work focuses on practical support, training, and sharing the love of Christ in everyday life. From feeding undernourished babies to helping young people learn new skills and supporting families as they grow their own food, the ministry's heart is to bring hope, dignity, and long‑term change to communities that need it most.
Mark your calendars for our annual Move for Malawi fundraiser on September 5! Gathering at Crescent Park at 10:00 AM, we’ll kick off the day with a walk around the park loop, followed by an update on our latest projects in Malawi and a shared lunch. It’s a perfect chance to enjoy the outdoors while making a meaningful difference.

Movie Night
The Magic of Ordinary Days (2005) is a beloved Hallmark Hall of Fame period romance. Set in 1944, it stars Keri Russell as Livy, a pregnant unwed mother sent to rural Colorado for an arranged marriage to a quiet, hardworking farmer, Ray (Skeet Ulrich). Together, they slowly build a touching, genuine bond.
Everyone welcome. Bring a snack to share and a friend to join in! Enter around the back by the parking lot.

Please connect with Deanna or sign-up in the lobby if you can lend a hand!

Mystery Club: Investigating the Truth of Jesus
Get ready for an exciting week of discovery, creativity, and fun! At Mystery Club, kids will step into the role of investigators as we explore the truth of Jesus through engaging Bible stories, real-life stories of faith, and hands-on activities.
Each day will include fun games, interactive challenges, and time to build friendships, along with a snack to keep everyone energized.
Kids will be encouraged to ask questions, think deeply, and discover how the story of Jesus connects to their own lives.
This program is designed for elementary-aged kids and offers a safe, welcoming environment where every child can belong, learn, and have a great time.
We can’t wait to investigate together!
If you have any questions about registering or the program, please contact our Director of Children's Ministry:
